Robert Yuldashev is a master of a flute kuray, a traditional musical instrument of the indigenous Bashkir people that is believed to be used exclusively in the area of the Southern Urals. Having introduced kuray to the world, Robert performed solo and with many famous musicians in Russia, including a world-renowned chamber orchestra "The Virtuosos of Moscow," and Bolshoy Theatre Symphony Orchestra; the musician also preformed on La Scala (Milan) stage with a Bashkir opera singer Ildar Abdrazakov.
While Robert Yuldashev and Kurajsi play in different styles ranging from traditional folk to symphony orchestra collaborations to chillout and lounge, the artists insist that the main sound of the band is that of ethno-trance, performed on traditional Bashkir instruments such as kuray, dungur, dombra, kubiz, augmented by drums, jumbo, guitar, bong, shakers, and tambourine.
The influence of steel guitar on genres like Delta blues and country has long been underrepresented; this compilation aims to set the record straight. Bandcamp Album of the Day May 5, 2022
